Better Bus Services for Clapton Park

Last Saturday I held a public meeting at Vi Forrester Community Hall with Jennette Arnold, Greater London Assembly Member for London North East, and local ward councillors.
I fully support local residents in their fight to get better bus services, by extending the existing 308 bus to cover Clapton Park estate and have long campaigned for improvements to the 242. I am not happy to hear the 242 is being cut before reaching Clapton Park area. I want to see more not fewer buses serving Clapton Park.
This is area has one of the lowest car ownership areas in the UK and public transport is essential to residents to get to work, shop or just get out of the area.
Under this Mayor of London we have seen no improvements in our local bus services. Along with my colleagues and residents, I want to see proper public transport for Clapton Park. We should not have to keep pressing the Mayor for such services, when it is obvious there is considerable social need.
