Commonwealth War Graves Internship
18 January 2017 at 00:00:00
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) launched a programme of paid Centenary Internships funded from LIBOR fines and backed by the Government as part of its commemoration of the centenary of the Great War.
Under the scheme 18-25 year olds will be trained to work as paid guides in some of the Commission's most iconic sites, including Tyne Cot in Belgium, where a number of UK commemorative events will be held next year to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Passchendaele.
After a training and induction period, the interns will work for 4 months with the CWGC, guiding and informing visitors.
If you are interested in the opportunity, more details of the internship and how to apply can be found here.
The CWGC are particularly interested to hear from candidates from backgrounds that may not routinely access this material.
Registration deadline is Friday 20 January 2017.
