Community Housing Fund won't touch the sides

17 January 2017 at 00:00:00

Average prices in the borough are well over half a million pounds, rent is soaring, with overcrowding and demand for social housing the highest seen in 20 years.

The Government’s response is to allocate Hackney £36,740. This is a laughable amount. In contribution to Hackney's housing problems this won't do anything.

The Housing Minister, Gavin Barwell, MP for Enfield and also Minister for London, has made much of the Community Housing Fund. The fund aims to support communities to deliver affordable homes and boost housing supply.
