Hackney Council’s Charter Against Modern Slavery

I signed Hackney Council and the Co-op Party's Charter Against Modern Slavery, alongside Mayor Philip Glanville and Diane Abbott MP. 

It’s right and proper that Hackney adopts a high standard of commitment to tackle modern slavery in its own supply chains. The issue is increasing among British citizens and I recently visited Kenya and discussed the issue with parliamentarians across Africa. Hackney is a borough that reflects the world and it is important that we play a role in raising awareness of the growing issue of modern slavery.
