Interns and volunteers in my office

All interns and individuals carrying out work experience in MPs' offices have to register their details with IPSA. I am pleased that this registration scheme is in place and that this ensures transparency.

I am pleased to welcome short term work shadows and work experience in my office and as a London member get many requests from young constituents keen to visit for a couple of days and learn how Parliament works.

I welcome students, interns from recognised intern schemes and those undertaking work experience in my office for short placements.

I am clear that I do not have volunteers working in my office for long periods and ensure that no volunteer, intern or work experience is personally out of pocket.
