Junior Doctor Contracts

16 October 2015 at 00:00:00

Labour's Shadow Health Secretary Heidi Alexander has called for Jeremy Hunt to withdraw his threat of enforcing a contract on doctors so that the negotiations can be revived. The Health Secretary should be striving to agree a contract that works for doctors, patients and the NHS.

The recent figures showing the increase in doctors registering their interest in working abroad shows how low NHS staff morale is under this Conservative Government.

It should be the Government's aim to ensure that doctors are well supported so that the NHS can provide the best care possible for patients.

I’ve written to the Secretary of State for Health to raise my concerns.
