London fire service cuts

2 November 2012 at 00:00:00

Meg went to City Hall yesterday to voice her concerns about proposals that up to 17 fire stations across London close as part of the London Fire Authority's £50 million funding cuts.

Meg and other concerned MPs handed in a letter to the Mayor of London calling for an explanation of these plans.

Meg said "I am deeply concerned about these proposals and the lack of information we are getting from the Mayor of London and the chair of the Fire Authority. This silence is unacceptable - we need answers.

“Hackney has a higher than average number of incidents in London. We need to be clear that life needs protecting.”
