Ministerial reply on DVLA services at post offices

26 September 2012 at 00:00:00

Many of you have contacted me regarding the impact on local post offices if Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency services are not retained. In light of this, I wrote to the Secretary of State for Transport and the Post-Master General to raise my concerns.

I have now received a reply from Mike Penning MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department of Transport regarding the retention of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) services at Post Offices.

The Minister informs me that the DVLA is in the final stages of a competitive process involving two bidders.

I will keep constituents informed when an announcement of the outcome of the bidding process is made.

For the full response please see below. Alternatively, if you would like to receive a hard copy of this response please contact my office.
