Openreach to separate from BT
1 December 2016 at 00:00:00
This week Ofcom announced plans to formally separate Openreach from BT, after BT failed to offer voluntary proposals that address competition concerns.
Openreach is the division of BT Group that develops and maintains the UK’s main telecoms network used by providers such as Sky, TalkTalk, Vodafone and others.
The move is part of Ofcom’s plans to improve broadband and telephone services and increase investment in networks.
BT has had its chance. Now we need to crack on with getting super-fast broadband across Hackney.
