2011 Census - Help Make Hackney Count!

The census is a count of the area's population and this year’s is the 20th such exercise in the UK. The government uses these figures to calculate how much funding an area should get for a whole range of services, including health, housing, education, council services and the police.
After the 2001 census, Hackney missed out on millions of pounds annually because only 72% of households returned the form - the second poorest response rate in the country.
It is therefore essential that you help secure fair funding for vital local services by filling in and returning your census questionnaire this March.
The data collected is completely confidential and your personal details will not be shared with any other organisation or government department, no matter what your circumstances.
If you have any questions about how to fill in the questionnaire (including requests for translated materials or someone to visit your home), call the census hotline on 03000 201 101 or visit the website www.2011.census.gov.uk.
