Banister House Solar

I was delighted to attend the launch of Banister House Solar, the UK’s largest inner-city community-owned solar energy project on Social housing.

The scheme in Homerton, which is already powering the lifts, will provide renewable energy for the community and hopes to offset fuel poverty.

The project, supported by Hackney Council, has also provided paid internships for young people aged between 15 and 21 who have learnt IT, technical, legal and media skills.
