BIG fund for Wick

The BIG Lottery fund has announced £1 million investment in wick ward.

Wick ward is one of only 50 areas across the country to receive funding from the new BIG local programme. Funding will be given out via a new charitable trust that will work closely with local people to decide how to use the funding.

The areas have been selected for the funding because they have not received a large share of BIG lottery funding in the past. The funding will be awarded over a 10 year period after the trusts have been set up. Funding is likely to be awarded from October 2011.

Between March and June this year the Big lottery fund has awarded £2,047,337 to Hackney projects from roof gardens to holiday play schemes.
