Democracy week

I joined the Mayor of Hackney, Jules Pipe and Hackney’s borough police commander Steve Dann on Friday 19 October for a democracy week question and answer session at the Town Hall.

I was quizzed by pupils from Hackney Free and Parochial, Stoke Newington, Skinners Girls, Clapton Girls and Our Lady’s Convent schools on subjects such as the Olympics and voting at 16.

I was also pleased to welcome Haggerston School to Parliament during democracy week for a tour and talk on Parliament.

At the end of October pupils from Cardinal Pole presented me with their disability rights wish list in Parliament.
