Department of Health Accounts

Last year the Department of Health published their 2015/16 accounts on the last day that Parliament sat allowing no time for Parliamentary scrutiny. Scrutiny was particularly needed given the poor health of the Department’s budget and the one-off measures that were used to balance the books.

This year’s 2016/17 accounts were laid two days before Parliament finished. This is extremely concerning and I have written to the Health Secretary.
