Donegal

In February I visited wind farms in Donegal and saw both the possibilities and limitations for this form of renewable energy. One thing that is clear is that the British Isles provide great opportunities for wind and wave power because of the geography and climate. Over the next 20 years we will see the Russian gas fields dominate the supply of energy to Europe. Relying on a trans-Europe pipeline from Russia places a serious risk on the security of our energy supply. Alternatives are essential.
