Free School Meals Bill

I sponsored the free school meals Private Members Bill introduced by Frank Field MP, which aims to automatically grant children who are eligible for, but not registered for school dinners.

This Bill will put a duty on all local authorities to identify and register disadvantaged children based on their family income.

This is important as currently 160,000 children in England are entitled to free school meals but are not registered.

Private Members Bills face an uphill struggle to become law but it is a bill that I would hope the Government might support.
