If you are fascinated by local history then Hackney Archives are a great place to go.
Hackney Archives cares for the archives and local studies collections of the London borough of Hackney. They include original documents, photographs and maps of the borough and its residents
Hackney Archives will be moving to the brand-new CLR James Library at Dalston junction. The archives will be improving customer service and the resources available to visitors.
If you are researching the history of your house or street, ancestors who lived here, or are doing a local studies project at school, Hackney Archives is the place to start.

When the library and archives re-open in the summer it will be the largest library in Hackney and one of the largest in London. The library will be open from 7am and will include a café in the complex.
