Hackney food bank

Meg met with the newly created Hackney food bank at their distribution centre in Orsman Road.

The food bank provides food packages to individuals and families who are in serious need. Up to three packages can be issued in a year.

“The Hackney food bank has opened because of the need of local people to get the basics to feed a family.

“I welcome the volunteers who put such efforts into this. It’s a sad sign of the times that it’s so necessary in Hackney today.”
