Hackney is great

Meg has hit out at a national TV programme which has branded Hackney the worst place to live in Britain.
“I don’t believe these people have ever even been to Hackney. There is so much to celebrate – green spaces, a National Trust property, the canals and waterways, the forthcoming Olympics and most of all the people. With over 300 languages spoken in Hackney we have people living cheek by jowl from all corners of the world – and the restaurants from many African countries to Vietnamese to show for it.
“We also have more transport improvements to look forward to with the East London Line and the 8 trains an hour on the North London line due from next November.
“And on top of this we are seeing a council which is continually improving its services to local people.”
