It was an honour to welcome Hackney Community College student, Zarah Osarobo, to a special event in Parliament.
Zarah received a highly commended prize in the 19-years-old and over category of the Association of Colleges' Student of the Year awards.
Zarah has shown great determination to overcome her disabilities. When she was born she had cerebral palsy and the doctors said she would never be able to walk or talk. Zarah taught herself to walk and talk and has determinedly studied for her Level 1 qualifications alongside living independently and becoming an ambassador for Mencap, meeting MPs, doing radio broadcasts and blogging about life with learning disabilities.
Zarah's determination, spirit and motivation are truly inspiring to both her fellow students and staff at Hackney Community College.
