Hackney Women's Dinner

Archive

14/02/12

On 6 February Meg hosted the first Hackney Women's Dinner. The event brought together some of the young women in Hackney with women who are successful in their career field.

Finding a job or starting a new career is particularly tough for young people. The event was held to help the young women develop their networking skills as well as inspire them to pursue their ambitions and career goals.

In total nearly 100 women attended, with around 40 professional women including Karen Ingala-Smith, Chief Executive of the Nia project, Clarie Middleton from the Hackney Empire and the Deputy Mayor Karen Alcock. Lindsay Johnston from UBS also addressed the young women about planning their careers.

Around 60 young women attended from schools and colleges in Hackney. The event was a great success and Meg hopes to hold similar events in the future.

Please contact Meg if you would be interested in attending or supporting future events in Hackney.
