Meg has joined the 10:10 campaign to reduce carbon emissions by 10% in 2010.

Meg said, "I have received a huge number of e-mails on the campaign and it has been interesting reading about the range of different ways in which people are reducing carbon emissions in their own lives.

I will be joining the movement to cut carbon emissions by 10% in 2010 and I've started already by joining a car club scheme."

The campaign has amassed a huge following including all Government Cabinet ministers. Secretary of State, Ed Miliband has also called on councils to join up.

The Government has also introduced carbon budgets for each of its departments and is on track to reduce emissions across the Government's estate by 12.5 per cent by 2010-11.

Meg said, "As well as doing all we can individually we need action at the top and I am pleased that the Government is taking a lead both in domestic targets and in pushing for an ambitious deal at the Copenhagen talks in December."
