National Carers Day

On National Carers Day, Meg spoke at the Hackney Carers AGM. She highlighted the millions of pounds that Carers save the Government and urged Carers to claim their full entitlement in Government support for the work they do.

Meg, a former carer, also called on the council and health authorities to work harder to join up services as many Carers are dealing with multiple agencies.

Meg will be watching the progress of the Children and Families Bill when it comes to Parliament in January to make sure families with disabled children get proper support.

National Carers Rights Day is organised by Carers UK and works to celebrate the work carers do, raise awareness of carer's needs and to inform and guide carers of support which may be available to them. It was held on Friday 30th November.
