Remembrance Sunday

Archive

28/11/13

On Remembrance Sunday, I attended a special ceremony at the newly restored memorial in Stoke Newington to remember civilians who lost their lives in World War Two.

I have been honoured to have been a trustee for the War Memorials Trust for many years and November is always a special time to remember those who have been lost fighting for this country.

Through a grant given by the War Memorials Trust, the memorial in Stoke Newington has been restored to ensure that there is a permanent reminder of the human cost of World War Two paid by people in the Borough.

I also attended the parade and service at St John-at-Hackney later that day.
