Sebright children’s centre

On Tuesday 17 July I had the pleasure of opening the new children’s centre in Haggerston.

Hackney currently has 14 children’s centres and is to receive over £23 million from Government for children centres from 2008 to 2011.

Part of the funding will enable centres to employ outreach workers to visit parents in their own homes. This is crucial in Hackney where many mothers of young children are isolated from other support by geography and language.
