Sustainability and Transformation Plans - STPs

14/09/16

City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are currently working with partners across north east London (NEL) to develop a local five-year STP that sets out they will work together to deliver on key health and wellbeing priorities for the area. These include improving available services in the early years area of care, improving one-year survival rates for cancer, reducing emergency hospital admissions amongst people over 75, and building on the work they are already doing to support residents with mental health issues.

On 30 June 2016 NEL's draft STP was submitted to NHS England. You can read the draft here.

Following the draft's publication, I met with the Chair of City and Hackney CCG to discuss concerns about the process and implications for Hackney. I have also met with the NEL Commissioning Support Unit to express my concerns.

It's important that we retain local decision making and ensure the best possible service for residents.

Final submissions are due later this year. Its important patients and the public are able to challenge and review these plans. I would encourage you to read more about the plans and contribute to the debate. For more information please visit www.nelstp.org.uk.

I will continue to monitor the situation closely.
