In a speech in the House of commons Meg told Ministers that the right lessons need to be learned from the riots in August. She warned against knee jerk reactions and stereotyping.

“However, if these events mean that we focus on gangs, the fear of walking down the street and other fears that young people have, some good can come out of the terrible events of that weekend in August
