See above for my weekly round-up of what I’ve been up to in Hackney and Westminster.

  • Hackney is forecast to have one of the sharpest declines in London in Reception and Year 7 pupil admissions over the next three years. I raised this with the Secretary of State, who rightly acknowledged the need to invest in affordable housing so families can stay in our borough and our schools.

  • On the doorstep of Ridley Road Market, Dalston Kingsland is one of the only stations on the Mildmay line without a lift. We need to make our station accessible for everyone. I welcomed the Secretary of State for Transport to Dalston to see this for herself and to press for faster action.

  • The Prime Minister recognised the urgent need for affordable housing in Hackney and praised Hackney Council’s record on housebuilding.
