Meg's Weekly Round-Up: Friday 3 July

See above for my weekly round-up of what I’ve been up to in Hackney and Westminster.

  • The Treasury Committee looked at high street shops that avoid paying tax.

  • Hackney has the second-highest number of buildings with dangerous cladding in London. I welcomed the Cladding Minister to Hackney to see remediation for herself as the Government prepares legislation to tackle this.

  • Hackney Mind is pioneering sessions of mental health support to those who need it, when they need it, without long waiting lists. I was pleased to welcome the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to Mind to hear more about their fantastic work.
