See above for my weekly round-up of what I’ve been up to in Hackney and Westminster.
This week:
I was out and about in Hackney Wick with the local councillors speaking with local businesses and residents.
The Government published its draft Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill which, amongst other measures, will cap the ground rent for existing leaseholds properties to £250 year.
The Home Secretary announced the most serious reform to policing in a generation. It will empower local police officers to spend more time focusing on the day-to-day basics such as tackling shoplifting, antisocial behaviour, and keeping neighbourhoods safe through regular patrols.
