Meg’s Weekly Round-up! Friday 30th October
🎥 Weekly Round-up! 🗞️
I was pleased to welcome the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, @patmcfaddenmp , to Hackney earlier this week. We visited @scopecharity to discuss their amazing work supporting disabled people into work through its excellent work programmes!
This week saw the Chancellor’s #budget . For 48,000 people in #hackney living in council bands A-D, they’ll get an extra £100 back off their council tax💰
I spoke in the chamber on a bill aimed to remove dangerous cladding more quickly from our homes and finally deal with these fire safety issues.
I was so pleased to see such incredible talent at the Westminster Experience Day! Students from Hackney came to parliament to get a chance to see what I do in Westminster and what it’s all about👏🏻
Thank you to the amazing @the_skills_centre for inviting me to such a special event (more on that later) and for allowing me to film my Weekly Round-up at your fantastic institution👷🏽♀️
