See above for my weekly round-up of what I’ve been up to in Hackney and Westminster.
I held a busy advice surgery meeting constituents and hearing first-hand about the issues they face, which helps inform my work in Parliament.
The Treasury Select Committee continued its inquiry into student loans, hearing from ministers in the Treasury and Department for Education. We expect to publish our proposals for change before the summer recess.
In Parliament, we voted on legislation to bring steel production into public ownership and debated the Railways Bill, which will establish Great British Railways. And don't forget it was this Government that recently froze rail fares for the first time in years.
