See above for my weekly round-up of what I’ve been up to in Hackney and Westminster.

This week:

  • The Government announced the biggest changes to the water industry in a generation, including the abolishment of Ofwat and the introduction of a new national social tariff scheme for low-income households. In the meantime, if you struggle with your water bill see details about Thames Water's social tariff scheme here.

  • The Treasury Select Committee questioned the Governor of the Bank of England about financial stability and the changes to mortgage lending that will see more people able to buy a home.

  • The Liaison Committee (the committee made up of select committee Chairs) questioned the Prime Minister on poverty.

  • I pressed the Secretary of State for Health about funding for Homerton Hospital.
