See above for my weekly round-up of what I’ve been up to in Hackney and Westminster.

  • I’ve been campaigning against Transport for London’s proposals to cut short the route 38 bus so it terminates at Holborn instead of Victoria. Tomorrow the London Bus Museum is running a Route 38 Heritage Day where you can ride for free on heritage buses dating from the 1950-1970s on the 38 bus route. See here for further details.

If you are able to join the heritage day on Saturday, please help me with my campaign by taking a selfie in or in front of the bus, attaching the Save Route 38 bus sticker (download here), and sharing it on your preferred social media channel using the hashtag #SaveRoute38. Even if you’re unable to join the heritage day, if you can take a photo on or nearby the bus, attach the sticker, and share it on your preferred social media with the hashtag #SaveRoute38 – then please do.

  • The Treasury Select Committee questioned the Chancellor about the Spring Statement. The committee also announced an inquiry into students loans and the taxation of graduates. We're keen to hear from graduates directly - the link to feed in to the survey is here and see here for the full terms of reference.

  • I visited New City College in Hoxton to talk about learning English as a second language. We need to ensure there is the right funding in place so that everybody in our community is supported to fully participate in society and in the workplace.
